World of Warcraft views on Twitch rose nearly 84% in August 2019

Analysts at the StreamElements streamer platform estimate that in August 2019, World of Warcraft’s views on Twitch grew by almost 84% to 68 million hours. The iconic MMO took fourth place in the list of most viewed games of the month.

No matter how hard it is to guess, such an increase was facilitated by the opening of the World of Warcraft Classic servers with a “vanilla” version of the game. This happened at the end of August. You can read more about WoW Classic here.

In addition, on views for August 2019 on Twitch, Dota 2 (73%) and Minecraft (almost 75%) significantly increased. If everything is clear with the first one (at the end of the month the main annual tournament The International 9 was held), then the second one has gained another new breath thanks to the spontaneous growth of popularity among famous YouTube players.

As for the streamers, among them the most popular last month was Asmongold (more than 10 million hours), and Tfue took the second place with a slight lag. It is worth noting that in the list, of course, there was no place for Ninja, which from August switched to Mixer
