Recently it became known that the voxel role-playing action Cube World will be released on Steam after eight years of development. Yesterday, the creator of the game, Wolfram von Funk, wrote a post about why the development took so long.
According to Funk, working on Cube World was a dream come true for him: he wanted to make games since childhood. However, he was injured and broken by a DDoS attack that occurred in 2013. After that, the developer had to deal with anxiety and depression, and staying on social networks with their negatives only exacerbated his condition.
In recent years, I wanted to release an update several times, but every time I was afraid that my work was not good enough. I’m also a perfectionist, and this made me remake everything from scratch several times.

Funk is still not sure that he should share such personal details with the audience, but he too much wanted to talk to fans of the game. However, now the difficulties are behind.
The developer ends the post with the words that now he will actually release Cube World 2.0. And although there are many things that he would like to add to his brainchild in the future, the current version already seems to him funny and funny.
The release of the project, inspired by Legend of Zelda and Minecraft, will take place in September or October.
