The head of the World’s Edge studio, Shannon Loftis, and the creative director of the Age of Empires series, Adam Isgrin, in an interview with Stevivor, said they did not rule out the release of Age of Empires IV on consoles.

We are working hard to make sure that we visualize all the different ways that people will want to try Age of Empires.

But first of all, we want to make the game work perfectly with the keyboard and mouse.

 According to a Stevivor interviewer, Sid Meier's Civilization VI will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 22. In his opinion, with which Isgrin agreed, this confirms that there is a demand for strategies on consoles.

We intend to consider all options. As soon as our wonderful game is released on the PC, we will begin to look in other directions.

 Isgrin previously stated that there will be no microtransactions in Age of Empires IV. Instead, the game will receive add-ons and extensions for which World’s Edge will be responsible.
