Skyrim Together authors don't owe anything to the community.
The creators of the multi-user modification Skyrim Together reported that the work is for themselves and the community does not have to. This rebuke, now remote by moderators, appeared on the Reddit forum in response to calls for the interruption of many months of silence and sharing news on the progress.
First of all, we owe nothing to the community. We release updates when we have a desire to spend time on it. At the moment, everything remains the same: we continue to correct the bugs.
Secondly, we are not doing this for the community. The community is sometimes so toxic that we wonder whether we should send everything and cancel the project, or continue, but never show it to the public. We make a mod for ourselves, because we believe that this is an interesting project and we can learn a lot by working on it. If someone leaves - it doesn't matter, when we release the mod, everyone will return. We are not trying to make a community.
Please allow us to be who we want and do everything as we want.
Max Griot, Skyrim Together Lead Programmer
As expected, the fans rather negatively perceived the remarks of the team representative. The creators of the fashion were reminded that their project is financed through Patreon, and from the “toxic community” they receive more than 18 thousand dollars a month.
In the recent past, this amount was almost twice as high. However, then it turned out that the authors of Skyrim Together without permission used the work of another custom mod,Skyrim Script Extender.
Note that Skyrim Together is not the only multiplayer modification to The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Tamriel Online mod, released back in 2015, allows you to play with friends on the local network.
