The other day will be the release of a new game of the Japanese studio Platinum Games. Action Astral Chain will be released on Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019. The first reviews of the game have already been published, and they are mostly enthusiastic.
According to the results of 46 reviews, the average score for the game on Metacritic is 88. Critics agree: Platinum Games has released another hit, which will be one of the reasons to buy a hybrid console.
The greatest praise is the one-piece and rich world of the game created by Takahisa Taura. The futuristic metropolis Ark looks alive, and it is interesting to study its nooks and crannies not only within the framework of the plot.
The very story of the policemen from the Neuron unit and their living weapons, the Legions, may not reach the plot of Nier: Automata, but its heroes cause no less sympathy. At least the fact that the game has a “plot” mode says about the importance of the story: in it all the battles are taken over by artificial intelligence. And does a great job! The player can only carefully monitor the unfolding events.
Astral Chain differs from other Platinum Games games in its focus on research and study. Players constantly have to look for keys to what is happening and communicate with witnesses. And the abundance of various side activities to the music of Satoshi Igarashi (Bayonetta 2, Nier Automata) does not let you get bored.
