The developers were in such a hurry to release a completely new sports simulator that they forgot to replace the icons ?
More recently, on September 6th, the NBA 2K20 basketball simulator went on release and literally in a couple of days made it to the top of the British video game chart. Critics' scores also turned out to be quite high - the specialized media praise the game for good graphics, realistic physics and a variety of modes.
On Metacritic, the score reaches 79 points, which is very worthy for a sports simulator. But the gamers did not cause delight at all. Moreover, the army of fans came up with angry reviews and literally defeated the NBA 2K20 on Steam - there are now only 15% of positive reviews.
Unfortunate icon
Unfortunately, gamers pour mud on the NBA 2K20 quite rightly, because the project has plenty of problems. It all started with the wrong icon of a sports simulator - the developers released a game for $ 60, in which the NBA 2K19 icon was displayed in the Windows taskbar. Fans who already unanimously insist that there are no changes compared to the last part, took it rather fiercely and even created a theme on Reddit to express their indignation. The list of changes is indeed rather mean, and if you discard new compositions and a couple of modes, then there is nothing to look at.
In addition, the NBA 2K20 literally on the release got a decent number of cheaters that interfere with playing with pleasure, a variety of glitches, a long load of matches and minor technical flaws. We add here a whole sea of content for real money and get the most mixed AAA release this year. Of course, the icon in the taskbar will be changed to the correct one with the next patch, but how the developers will deal with other problems is an open question. Probably the absence of at least any competition in the genre negatively affects the development of the franchise.
