IOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1 Released

Apple, as expected, released an update to the iOS mobile operating system at 13.1 and the new iPadOS for tablets. The assembly for smartphones has support for Siri Shortcuts, the ability to share location in Apple Maps and the processor control function.

It is the latter that is the most controversial innovation. The bottom line is that this feature is designed to slow down the processor on older models with a worn out battery. This will extend battery life, but at the cost of a drop in performance.

iPadOS is a tablet version of the system. One of the innovations for has become the main screen with support for widgets that are displayed next to the usual icons. IPadOS also received a system-wide dark mode, updates to standard Apple Maps applications, and it also supports Xbox and PS4 controllers.

Finally, the Safari browser in the tablet version of the system displays sites in the desktop rather than mobile mode. In addition, multitasking capabilities have expanded. For example, you can open one application in two windows and quickly switch between them. Also, the Files application was taught to work with data on USB drives and file servers.

The update is downloaded in the usual way: Settings> General> Software update.
