Gearbox at PAX West made an unexpected announcement: a full sequel to Homeworld.

The development of the third part is carried out by Blackbird Interactive, consisting of people from Relic who took an active part in creating the original dilogy, and also released the prequel Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak in 2016.

Now Homeworld 3 is in the pre-production stage, and its sales are planned to begin only after three years - in 2022 on the PC. The project will be a direct continuation of the last part, gameplay returning to the roots of the franchise.

Although the release will not take place very soon, now fans can financially support the game in Fig. In the first couple of hours, more than five hundred fans invested more than $ 85,000 in production.
