Foul Play

The developers of Dota 2 added a test algorithm to the game, designed to complicate the life of the Smurfs. This is the name of experienced players who create an additional account for themselves to play with newcomers and easily defeat them.

Now everything will not be so simple: if the algorithm determines that the user is playing much better than the average player of his level does, then the surfer will be thrown extra MMR points. As a result, his rank will grow much faster than usual, and soon he will have to fight with equal rivals.

Valve also turned to the players and asked them to send them details of players who are suspected of surfing: it will be easier for them to establish whether the new system is effective.
