The modder, nicknamed GamingDamned, published on his YouTube channel the first trailer for the unofficial remaster Red Dead Redemption for the Xenia and RPCS3 emulators. According to the author, the first version of the remaster will appear on the network in December this year.
Previously, GamingDamned was developing the Red Dead Redemption V mod, which transferred the card from RDR to GTA V. However, in 2017, one of the authors reported that the team was “contacted” a week after the release of the modification trailer, so they had to cancel the project.
DSOGaming notes that this time, Take-Two publisher, who owns the rights to the game, will not be able to cancel the remaster, since users will need the original version of Red Dead Redemption to run it on the emulator.
Recall that Red Dead Redemption was released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, and later the western got into the backward compatibility program, where it was improved for the Xbox One X. Last year, a fan of the game recreated the town of Armadillo on the Unreal Engine 4 engine, but reported that is not going to lay out the project in the public domain.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in October 2018 only on consoles, but network users have repeatedly found hints that the game can get to the PC. However, no official announcement has yet been received.
