As part of Gamescom, the gameplay trailer for Empire of Sin, a criminal strategy from John Romero, the creator of Doom, which he is developing with his wife, was presented.
The creator of the original Doom decided to try his hand at the strategy genre and teamed up with the masters of the Paradox Interactive genre. Empire of Sin takes players to Chicago in the 1920s during Prohibition. Al Capone climbed it, the same John Romero offers to do the same for you.
As in any other strategy, players have to build something magnificent from scratch. In the case of Empire of Sin, this is a criminal empire. As a business, you can choose underground bars, trade unions, gambling houses and many other not-so-legitimate activities. To build an empire, you have to compromise: bribe police officers and enter into alliances with other criminal organizations. Sometimes a business can take an unpleasant turn, and then you will have to enter the war for your business, territory and the work of a lifetime.
There are many ways to become King of Chicago. Empire of Sin does not limit a player to violence or crime. Many issues can be addressed through diplomacy. Changing initial conditions and different ways of developing a game scenario give Empire of Sin replay value.
