Foul Play

In the camp of Voidpoint studio, along with 3D Realms responsible for creating the recent retro shooter Ion Fury, obviously not everything is calm. It all started with the dissatisfaction of the visitors of the ResetEra portal with some statements made by the developers in the official game channel in Discord. Particularly concerned users considered them transfobic and propagating hatred.

While less vulnerable members of the gaming community shrugged their shoulders perplexedly, Voidpoint officials chose to apologize and also assured that they would cut out elements that could offend someone (including the word “faggot”, which is considered offensive to to representatives of homosexual orientation).

There are already boiling players who consider this decision a manifestation of censorship and the need to bend under the current political agenda. Twitter began to discuss that for this reason it’s worth not buying the game, but getting it in a pirated way in order to get an uncensored version. And then the official account of Voidpoint Studios suddenly entered into the dialogue. His comment surprised many:

“If you want to pirate the game, then it weighs only 95 megabytes. You really should check it out. We worked hard on it, and this is a cool game. Fuck politics. ”

The comment has already been deleted. It seems that recent events have caused a real split in the studio staff. We can only rejoice that all these unpleasant events occurred after the release of Ion Fury and did not affect its development. Because, as the game itself was really worthy of attention.
