The official release of Gears 5 will take place on September 10, and the owners of the Ultimate edition can evaluate the new part of the series now. However, the release of the game in China has been postponed due to an unspecified issue.
A message from Steam developers says that some kind of “specific difficulty” prevents users from getting the full version of the game.
Unfortunately, this means that we are currently forced to suspend sales, pre-orders and release of the game in China. We will investigate and update information when we have more data. Thank you for understanding.

Perhaps the problem is that Steam is not officially available in China: the platform is blocked by the government. However, some users bypass the ban using a VPN. The official Chinese version of Steam is now being developed with support from Perfect World.
